WE GET LETTERS

April 27, 2000

Dear Christian,

You don't know me, but I'm Lena Mae Hill Parker. A grandaughter of Julius (Jule) Gilbert Abee of Belmont,NC. Doris Jo Abee Kern had sent me a picture note card of the painting by the Eby House. Our Great --- Grandpa Theodorus Durst Aebi and his sons built in 1727. Doris Jo is my first cousin. She said she goes to Lancaster to the Reunions there.

Well, this month, April 12-16 we went on a tour bus- Christian tours to the Pennsylvania Dutch-Amish Country. On Friday April 14 we made a tour of the Amish Country and a Mennonite lady was our tour guide. I showed my picture of the Eby House. When we got to New Holland - Peters Road - she had the driver stop the coach and said there is the house. I could not believe my eyes. I just had to cry.

I was actually seeing the house our Great --- Grandfather Theodours Durst Aebi and his sons built in 1727. That was really a treasure for me. My husband Milton went to the back of the bus and a lady took a picture for me through the window. It turned out good - a telephone pole blocks out a window but I know it really is the house. I'm happy you own it, and it is still in the family. Do you live in the house?

I throughly enjoyed the tour. Maybe we'll be able to come up again sometine. May God Bless you. Lena Parker 1264 Robinwood Lane Elberton, GA 30635

We enjoy hearing from our many "cousins". Yes, my wife and daughter and I do live in the house. It is a private home, but you are welcome to stop by and take pictures of the outside. If we are home, we'll be happy to say hello.
