Eby Family Association

Welcome to the web page of the Eby Family Association. The Association was establised by and for the descendants of Theodorus Eby (Durst Aebi) who came to America before 1712 and settled in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania by 1715.

The Association has been active in the past but has not been very active in recent years. Volunteers are needed to keep things active.

This house pictured here is the family homestead thought to have been built circa 1727, the year Theodorus died. He is buried across the road in the restored family graveyard.

The house is located two miles south of New Holland, along Mill Creek.

We used to meet each year at the Overly's Grove Family Picnic Area south of New Holland, PA. We had our Picnic and meeting on the Saturday before Memorial Day. At the reunion in 2004 the members present voted to stop having the annual meetings. Hopefully, we can do this again in the future. If you would like to help, please let me know. This house was built circa 1727 By Theodorus Eby and is located in the heart of Amish Country, on the road between New Holland and Intercourse, near Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The house is now a private home but pictures can be taken from the road. The painting was done by Dempsey Essick of Welcome, North Carolina.

We are taking care of two graveyards in Lancaster County. George Eaby is coordinating that. One is the original graveyard near the Eby House which was where Theodorus was buried about 1727 and the other is behind the Christian Eby house along Hammer Creek near the town of Lexington. Donations are needed to take care of the graveyards.
